Spring 2023 - Spring Pledge Drive
KZSC is a student-run, noncommercial, educational, community radio station at UC Santa Cruz. At our core, we are curators, journalists, and advocates of inclusivity and the collaborative arts. We broadcast at 20,000 watts to over 3.2 million people in Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey Counties.
We at KZSC share the goal of uplifting alternative and underrepresented voices in the media, and this is the time of year where we ask for that support back!
We wouldn't have been able to broadcast for 55 years without the support of our listeners! Your donation goes a long way towards training the next generation of DJ's so that we can keep going 55 more years.
As well as serving the public, KZSC serves UCSC students. KZSC provides a home for all UCSC students, and has retained many students who would have otherwise left the university. Through our radio broadcast class, staff experience, and governing board positions we have provided a truly unique educational experience that provides students a space to grow.
- $5 gets a pack of CD cases
- $10 gets us a new USB drive
- $15 buys us a pack of LP sleeves for our library
- $20 get us batteries for our equipment
- $25 buys a new pair of headphones
- $30 buys us one hundred pages of photocopying
- $50 gets a new microphone
- $50 buys a portable CD player for music processing
- $100 buys a portable Tascam recorder for field news reporting
And these are just a few examples of our costs as a station!
Your donation to the station is tax deductible, and you can donate right here on this page! On the right side of this page you can see all of our KZSC merch donation perks. Each item is linked in its description, and if you'd like to look at all our our merchandise you can see it at https://kzsc.org/shop/. We have more merch designs and sizes that don't fit on this page, and all proceeds go towards the station!
If you choose to accept the perk, the fair market value is subtracted from your tax deduction. The fair market value of each item is the price listed on its shop page.
These resources have been available to UCSC students for 55 years because of listeners like you who choose to support us. We hope you'll join together with your fellow fans of KZSC to help boost this critical service and share your love for independent, nonprofit radio.
