OUR GOAL
To raise $10,000 in support of the 2016-17 basketball season to bolster our travel expenditures, to improve our strength and conditioning equipment and to purchase a shooting machine.
Your donation will allow us to travel to St Louis, Las Vegas and Arizona to compete against 3 pre-season top 25 NCAA Division 3 teams, as well as NCAA Division 1, and Pac-12 member, Arizona State. It will allow us to purchase additional jump ropes, resistance bands, speed ladders and balance boards so that players can optimize their workouts with athletic performance coach Robert Terrance. Finally, your donation will go towards the purchase of a Dr. Dish shooting machine that has been a proven tool for increasing a teams overall shooting percentages.
"When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before."
- Stonecutters Creedo
"KEEP HAMMERING THE ROCK"
Rarely do UC Santa Cruz players go a day without hearing Head Coach Ron DuBois reminding them to "keep hammering that rock." To our team, this represents, focusing each day on the task at hand, to control what we can control and stay immersed in the moment. To understand that each blow they give to that rock is a necessary and critical step in their collective journey to break open that rock and achieve their ultimate goal.
Today, our program is asking that you step up and hammer that rock with us. With your investment in our program, we can collectively realize our goals. We can make it to the NCAA tournament and provide the Santa Cruz community with a program they can be proud of.
NEVER IN PROGRAM HISTORY HAS THE ROCK BEEN CLOSER TO BREAKING
With downtown Kaiser Permanente Arena, the most impressive home court in all of NCAA D3, an increased administrative commitment to athletics, after two years under an intense microscope, and continued recognition as a top academic institution nationally, UC Santa Cruz has become a premier destination for players to study and play basketball.
The talent has been coming...
The 2016-17 roster will be the most talented group that UC Santa Cruz has ever seen. The Junior Class, led by team captain Sam Gabbard (Vacaville High) an All-Independent First Team performer this past season, is a deep, talented and experienced group. Point guard Adam Marlow (Sonora High) recorded a rare triple double against Lewis and Clark. Shooting guard Corey Cilia (Half Moon Bay) nearly became the first 50/40/90 shooter in UC Santa Cruz history, shooting 50% from two, 39% from 3 and 82% from the FT line. Soon to be Sophomore Center, Will Crain, (Casa Grande High) led the team in points, rebounds and blocks as a freshman on his way to All-Independent first team honors. Former Santa Cruz County star Ben Dorfman (Aptos High) has blossomed into the teams best defender and three point shooter.
The wins have been mounting...
Each of the past two seasons has seen the UC Santa Cruz program pass its historical mark for all time Division 3 wins. Setting the mark in 2014-15 and again surpassing it this past season. With continuity in place, an exciting recruiting class on the way and an experienced group returning, the program is setting their sights on an NCAA tournament birth.
THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN RECEIVING SUPPORT
To realize our vision, and to break open the rock, our program depends on continued support from fans, family, alumni and former players. This season will be no exception. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to bolster our travel expenditure, to improve our strength and conditioning equipment, and to purchase a shooting machine.

THE TIME IS NOW FOR YOU TO HAMMER THE ROCK WITH US
Never in program history has there been more blows to the figurative "rock." From our downtown arena, to an influx of talent to an increase in wins and additional backing from the administration, the "rock" is beginning to crack. Now is the time for your to join in and be a part of our promising future.
Thank you for your continued support,
