Arboretum Entry Renovation

On Giving Day the Arboretum’s goal is to raise $20,000 for the renovation of the Arboretum entry, a project to create an enhanced visitor experience. Donations would fund work with UC Santa Cruz students in garden planning and installation.. Through this intensive, hands-on, experiential process, students will be exposed to practical horticulture in the context of landscape design, site preparation, and installation of featured plants from our unique collections. The entry redesign is the first step in a reconception of the Arboretum's welcome to the public and how people experience the gardens. Further work will focus on Norrie's Gift & Garden Shop as a point of entrance for admissions, education, and information. The new entry garden will be an explosion of colorful flowers, foliage, hummingbirds, and butterflies—and will provide a spectacular new gateway for visitors to the university, as well.
